Creator Of The Month Questions

What city are you based in?

Vancouver, BC

Tell us a bit about yourself!

I’m a cosplayer, YouTuber and aspiring voice actress! I’ve been cosplaying for almost 12 years now and I enjoy sharing my experiences and knowledge over on my YouTube channel, where I post weekly videos having to do with cosplay and other nerdy things.

What fandoms are you into?

Danganronpa, Jujutsu Kaisen, Professor Layton, Helluva Boss, Ghostbusters and various 2000s cartoon fandoms like Kim Possible and Teen Titans.

Can you tell us about your first cosplay?

I think technically my first cosplay ever was Katara from Avatar when I was 13 years old. I cosplayed her for Halloween after my mom made me the costume from scratch. None of the kids at my school knew who I was and they teased me for having a weird costume, but I remember nonetheless feeling so proud and powerful getting to dress up as one of my biggest heroes at the time. That’s definitely a memory and feeling that I try to carry with me when I cosplay today.

Do you have a cosplay piece that you are most proud of?

I think I’m still most proud of my Tracer cosplay, especially the guns. It was my first time ever working with EVA foam and I’m still really happy with how they came out, especially considering it was my first go at it.

What do you hope to achieve through cosplay?

I want to share my passion for fictional media with the world and make new friends in the process! It would also be nice to be able to make a career out of cosplay, but that’s a pretty far off dream.

If you could give any piece of advice to new cosplayers, what would it be?

I would say to first and foremost focus on having fun; don’t worry about having an absolutely perfect cosplay or getting followers, just focus on doing what brings you the most joy.
