Community Zone

Come meet fellow fans and celebrate fandom in the Community Zone with booths run by local groups and organizations!

So many books, so little time! FAN EXPO Cleveland is bringing a Reading Lounge to the show this year to highlight all the amazing authors and publishers we have at the show. So, whether you want to pull up a chair and get lost in a good book, or find new titles to add to your TBR stack, you won’t want to miss the reading lounge. Still not sure what to read? Make sure to attend the ‘Your Next Great Read’ panel, where we’ll introduce you to amazing titles that are sure to make your list.

The Cleveland Asian Festival is a grassroots festival that highlights Cleveland’s AsiaTown, Diversity, and Asian Culture in Northeast Ohio. Organized by the community, FOR the community, they celebrate Cleveland’s diversity and Asian Pacific American Heritage Month in May. Come and see their booth to see AAPI cultural items, cosplayers, three mascots, cultural performances, and martial arts.

Founded in 1869, The Peoples University serves the community at 27 branches throughout the city with many diverse programs from their Family Spaces to their TechCentral MakerSpace. Join them at their booth for library card sign-ups, free books, fun activities, and more!

Ready to train FAN EXPO Cleveland's Jedi, Elvish warriors, musketeers, and more, Cyrano's Place is a fencing club in Lakewood, Ohio, just minutes from downtown Cleveland. They teach Olympic Style Fencing in all three weapons: Epee, Foil, and Saber. Join Cyrano's Place fencing team for themed training sessions, demos, and tournaments all weekend long; all skill levels welcome!

The Federation, founded with the help of Gene Roddenberry, was designed to be today’s real-world version of the Federation seen on ‘Star Trek.’  Based in Northern Ohio, The Federation has chapters around the world whose primary focus is to help those in need.

Who you gonna call? Your official local “Ghostbusters” franchise! When they're not out busting pesky poltergeists and keeping the city free of ectoplasmic slime, these paranormal elimination enthusiasts participate in community events and raise money and awareness for good causes in Northeast Ohio and beyond. For almost 40 years and counting, ‘bustin’ still makes us feel good!

Through the building and wearing of movie-quality costumes from the Star Wars Universe, Star Wars: A Galaxy United brings characters to life for fans around Ohio for the purpose of making people happy while also focusing on helping various charities with similar goals.

Some real super heroes are coming to FAN EXPO Cleveland!

The Superhero Project empowers youth impacted by serious illnesses, disabilities and complex mental health or medical needs, by harnessing the power of arts and imagination as a tool for healing.

Super Heroes to Kids in Ohio is a super organization for super kids! Their goal is to make a positive difference in the lives of not only children battling adversity, but the families who are also affected.

The 13th Century has come to FAN EXPO Cleveland! Be on the look out for emissaries from The Great Lakes Medieval Faire. Reminiscent of Sherwood Forest, at the faire you'll experience an age of romance and chilvalry, where brave knights battle for the favor of the Queen, fair damsels and minstrels frolic, and the villagers and fae enjoy a festival day with much merriment!

Animal lovers, ASSEMBLE! Are you ready to be a hero? Come and meet some super (cute!) dogs and cats that need a forever home! FAN EXPO Cleveland's adoption fair will include shelters and rescues from across the Cleveland community and connect you with pets and organizations that need your help. But wait, there's more! All of the adoptable friends will be putting their best paw forward in their favorite cosplays!

When: Saturday, March 25
