Team Picks: Fave Animated TV Show Characters
Here at the FAN EXPO HQ, our team is always nerding out over the world of fandom. On Team Picks, we share some of our favorite things we’ve been watching, reading and playing. This month, we are consulting the TV guides of old to recall our fave animated TV show characters.
Animated shows have a license to get a little weird or fantastical and do things that wouldn’t be possible in live-action media. They get our imagination gears turning, and that’s one of the reasons we love them so much.
Today, we’re each picking our fave characters from animated TV shows.
Pepper Ann
Ashley
Customer Service Coordinator
If I have to choose only one favourite, I will have to say Pepper Ann. She was incredibly awkward and quirky and didn’t fall into the typical idea of what a good female character should be. Her stories were relatable for me as a young girl who was quite awkward and boy-crazy. I also had a very vivid imagination with a tendency to live in the clouds and day-dream all of the things that could be. Pepper Ann was a character I could see myself in and could root for, and I will always love her for that.

First of all, she’s memeable. She’s also a real one and tells you like it is. She has this line where she just says flat out to Francine, "GO HOME". That line sent me. That's what I'd love to say to my friends who overstay their welcome.
Beast Boy
Quinn
Social Media Coordinator
I’m going with Beast Boy from Teen Titans. He’s always trying to make sure everyone has a good time, he’ll do anything for his friends, and oh yeah … there’s the whole turning into animals thing. I was pretty obsessed with this show as a kid and wanting Beast Boy’s powers was a big part of that.
Yakko, Wakko & Dot
Lizzie
Operations Coordinator
For my pick, I choose Yakko, Wakko, and Dot (picking just one out of these three lovable goofballs is an impossible task). I love the Animaniacs, and to anyone who says, ‘watching cartoons isn’t helping your growing tendency to dissociate with reality,’ I say, ‘hellooooo nurse!’ Faboo!
