WHAT'S NEXT FOR FANDOM TV
There have already been so many fandom TV releases this year – from favorites like The Book of Boba Fett, Moon Knight, and the new Halo series, to gripping dramas such as Euphoria and Severance, and the ultimate finales of Ozark and Better Call Saul. While the binge watching may have ended for some shows, here are some upcoming releases to look forward to for the rest of 2022.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds
Release Date: May 5, 2022
Platform: Paramount +
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will feature Captain Pike getting his own ship and spinoff show, where he will explore the galaxies with Spock and his Number One. The series is set one decade prior to the original Star Trek series.
Obi-Wan Kenobi
Release Date: May 25, 2022
Platform: Disney+
Another Star Wars show from Disney+ is coming soon, and this one may be the most anticipated one yet. Ewan McGregor will return as Obi-Wan Kenobi, where the Jedi master will have to deal with the consequences of the downfall and corruption of Anakin Skywalker.
Stranger Things Vol 4
Release Dates: Part 1 - May 27 | Part 2 - July 1
Platform: Netflix
After three very long years, Stranger Things will finally return this month, this time in two parts. Season four of Stranger Things will be the second to last season as Netflix has announced season five will be the series finale. The season will be set over spring break where the A/V club will investigate a dark force that’s been in their hometown for decades.
The Boys Season 3
Release Date: June 3, 2022
Platform: Amazon Prime
The Boys are back! The Amazon Prime series will start with a three-episode premier and then the remaining episodes will be released weekly. The season will feature new superheroes and we will find out what Congresswoman Neuman has planned with Hughie.
The Umbrella Academy
Release Date: June 22, 2022
Platform: Netflix
Season three of The Umbrella Academy is sure to be action-packed! The Hargreeves must join forces to save their home from an alternate version of their family, The Sparrow Academy. The show will also see Elliot Page’s character, Vanya, transition to Viktor.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power
Release Date: September 2, 2022
Platform: Amazon Prime
The highly anticipated Lord of the Rings prequel series premiers in September on Amazon prime. We don’t know much just yet, just that it takes place in the second age of Middle Earth.
