My Thoughts Exactly...
Wuthering Heights not only tells the tale of romance, danger, and agony, but is a novel of great understanding from a young woman of her era. This tale of extraordinary woe and misfortunate is forever a staple of literature that we see reinvented and reflected in so many works or art to this day.

Oh, the Woe
This tale of mismatched lovers is truly heartbreaking and entrancing. It's not the classic love story in which the lovers find each other in the end, but instead the tragic tale of how status, wealth, and communication could truly influence love.
We start off by experiencing what seems like the joy of a foundling having a home and family, only for it to turn in to the story of abuse.
As we grow with Heathcliff and Catherine's relationship, we hope to see their love come to fruition, and yet again we see it take a turn for the worst when Heathcliff misunderstands what Catherine is telling Nelly. Furthermore, this is so devastating that then Catherine becomes deathly ill, Heathcliff unknowingly hurting her truly to the core.
To make matters worse, Catherine goes through with her marriage to Edgar and gets pregnant, which perpetuates Heathcliff's anger.

Emily was only 30 years of age when she passed away. She published Wuthering Heights one year before her death, unknowing of the legacy she left behind.
Emily grew up in Haworth, a village in the parsonage of West Yorkshire. Her father was a curate there, and she based the setting of Wuthering Heights off of this area, the Yorkshire Moors.
Emily was known to be antisocial, but her love of animals shone though with her best friend Keeper, of which she drew this water color of!
Bronte was the second youngest of six siblings, with Charlotte and Anne also being talented writers of their own.
Emily wrote a book of poetry with Charlotte and Anne under the pen names Currer, Ellis, and Acton Bell. Bronte used the pen name Ellis for Wuthering Heights as well.
Her sister Charlotte wrote the infamous novel Jane Eyre, using her pen name Currer Bell. Her other sister, Anne, wrote Agnes Grey and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall.
In 2022, Warner Bros. released a biographical drama based on Bronte's 30 years of life. It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival before widespread theatrical release.
Bronte's work has inspired many works of art, including many books, poems, and songs, such as the album "Lines Part Three: Emily Bronte". The Unthanks recorded this album at Bronte's family home.
