The FHQ

Best 90's Cartoons

LET'S RANK

For this month's edition of Let's Rank, we're throwing it back to the 90's! This Let's Rank is dedicated to all of the 90's kids out there because we're ranking our top 90's animated TV shows.

5. X-Men: The Animated Series

Multiple X-Men like Cyclops & Wolverine charge at an unseen enemy

Of course we had to include X-Men: The Animated Series! This was definitely one of the most popular animated shows of the 90's and we love it. The show did a great job of remaining close to the comics and following their stories while still being engaging to new audiences & fans who hadn't read the comics. All of your favourite heroes and villains were in the show. Also, we have to mention how catchy the theme song was. I can hear it playing in my head right now.

4. Doug

Doug was probably one of the most relatable of the '90s cartoons. The show was based around early adolescent life and covered topics like dealing with bullying and low self-esteem. Not only is the writing funny, but the music is great and the characters are very endearing. You could easily see yourself being friends with them.

3. Rugrats

Are you even surprised? We HAD to put Rugrats on the list. When you think of 90's cartoons, Rugrats is always one of the first that comes to mind. The show have a really fun premise and it did a great job of highlighting the ups and downs of growing up. Overall, it was just super entertaining.

2. SpongeBob SquarePants

Okay, I'm sorry, but we had to include SpongeBob SquarePants on here. It's a classic and we all know it. Not only are the characters super loveable but it's just a really easy watch. There's just something about it. It's a feel good classic. Also, it gets bonus points for its theme song. The theme song is arguably one of the catchiest out of all of the '90s cartoons.

1. Powerpuff Girls

Bubbles, Buttercup and Blossom pose heroically infront of red hearts.

I bet you already knew who was getting the top spot. We gave it to The Powerpuff Girls! In our opinion, this cartoon is the best of the 90's. Further, it is arguably one of the best cartoons of all time. The show highlights friendship, female empowerment and is just super entertaining. Who doesn't want to watch three best friends kick butt as superheroes?
