ELLE:
FROM THE WORLD OF LEGALLY BLONDE
GET READY FOR AN ELLE-VENTURE
We know there's one thing that will never go out of fashion, and that would be the iconic Elle Woods. From the original Legally Blonde movie and it's sequel to the musical adaptation, we can't get enough of the blonde phenom. Now, in the TV show, we'll see Elle before her university days, taking on Seattle in her teens. Let's take a trip down memory lane and get nostalgic before watching the new series.
A LEGALLY BLONDE LEGACY
In Elle, we see Elle Woods in the '90s during her time in high school, before she sets her sights on Harvard law. We'll see her moving to Seattle, as shown in the trailer, meaning our girl is once again taking flight from LA. With that in mind, let's have a refresher of where the franchise started, what we've seen, and why Legally Blonde maintains its status as a pop culture mainstay 25 years after the original movie took us by storm.
LEGALLY BLONDE (NOVEL)
The book that started it all. Written in 2001 by Amanda Brown, it was based on her time attending Stanford Law School.
LEGALLY BLONDE (Movie)
Based on the book, the Legally Blonde movie catapulted the franchise to the zeitgeist with mass popularity. It's cemented as a Gen X and Millennial cult classic.
LEGALLY BLONDE 2: RED, WHITE, AND BLONDE
In the 2003 sequel, we see Elle take on D.C. to fight for animal rights through "Bruiser's Bill". The Capitol proves more challenging than Harvard, but you know Elle handles it stylishly as can be.
LEGALLY BLONDE: THE MUSICAL
In 2007, we were lucky to see Elle and her friends on the Broadway stage. The original cast even includes your fave Hazbin Hotel overlord, Christian Borle (Vox), as Emmett.
LEGALLY BLONDES (2009)
The franchise hops back to California, now focused on Elle's British cousins as they navigate Pacific Preparatory School.
THE SEARCH FOR ELLE WOODS
After the success of the original Broadway run of the musical, MTV hosted a reality competition to find the next Elle Woods to star in the production.
THE NEW CREW OF ELLE
Elle Woods
The teenage version of titular, iconic character is played by Lexi Minetree.
Madison
Elle's best friend and fellow Californian, Madison is played by Jessica Belkin.
Shannon
Danielle Chand is Shannon, a character we don't know much about just yet, but is set to be in a majority of the series.
Kimberly
Played by Chandler Kinney, Kimberly is set to be an opposing force to Elle.
Miles
The school's star athlete is played by Jacob Moskovitz. Of course, Elle's got him under her spell.
Liz
Gabrielle Policano is Liz, set to be Elle's polar opposite.
Dustin
Played by Zac Looker, Dustin is Elle's classmate who is invested in social justice and boldly speaking up for his causes.
Eva & Wyatt Woods
June Diane Raphael and Tom Everett Scott play Elle's parents, Eva and Wyatt.
THE ORIGINAL CAST
Elle Woods
Reese Witherspoon is the original Elle Woods: the bubbly and charming President of the Delta Nu sorority, UCLA Fashion Merchandising grad, and Harvard Law student. You know her from The Morning Show, Wild, Walk the Line, and many more iconic roles.
Emmett Richmond
Luke Wilson is Elle's love interest, a Junior Partner at Callahan's law firm, and a teaching assistant at Harvard Law. You've seen him in Stargirl, That 70's Show, Charlie's Angels, and so much more.
Paulette Bonafonté
Jennifer Coolidge is Elle's manicurist, trusted confidant, and new best friend in Boston. You know her from titles like White Lotus, A Cinderella Story, 2 Broke Girls, and more.
Vivian Kensington
Selma Blair is Elle's 'competition'. She is Warner's new girlfriend and fellow Harvard Law student, eventually warming up to Elle and befriending her. You know Blair from Cruel Intentions (also alongside Witherspoon), Hellboy, and more.
Warner Huntington III
Matthew Davis plays Elle's former boyfriend who breaks up with her right before he moves for law school. You know Davis from The Vampire Diaries, Legacies, Blue Crush, What About Brian, and more.
Professor Callaghan
Victor Garber plays the Harvard professor and lawyer leading the defense for Brooke Taylor-Windham, who also makes a pass on Elle. Garber is known for parts in everything from Titanic, Alias, Argo, Legends of Tomorrow, and many more.
Margot
Jessica Cauffiel plays one of Elle's best friends and Delta Nu sisters from California. Cauffiel is known for her classic comedic roles in White Chicks, My Name is Earl, and more.
Bruiser Woods
Woman's best friend and everyone's fave fashionable chihuahua. He's Elle's right-hand man and the reason for her campaigning in D.C. for Bruiser's Bill in Legally Blonde 2.
Serena
Alanna Ubach plays another of Elle's Delta Nu sisters and best friends. Uback is known for her roles in Bombshell, Euphoria, many voice acting roles, and much more.

BROOKE TAYLOR-WINDHAM & CHUTNEY WINDHAM
This movie is stacked with iconic actors, and this duo is no exception. Ali Larter and Linda Cardellini play Brooke Taylor-Windham and Chutney Windham (respectively), the step-mother-daughter duo duking it out in court over the death of Heyworth Windham, Brooke's late husband and Chutney's late father. Brooke is a Delta Nu and fitness instructor that Elle idolizes and eventually trusts while working on the case. Chutney is disgruntled at her father marrying Brooke as they are the same age, and ends up being found out as the one who accidentally shot Heyworth.
Ali Larter is known for her work on Heroes, Final Destination, Resident Evil, and much more.
Linda Cardellini is known for Freaks and Geeks, Scooby-Doo, Avengers: Endgame, ER, and much more.
UPS GUY
Played by Bruce Thomas, he is Paulette's love interest and wonderful comedic relief. He falls prey to a nose-breaking execution to the iconic 'bend-and-snap' maneuver that Elle teaches Paulette at the salon. Thomas is known for numerous voice acting roles (he's probably in one of your fave video games somewhere), Kyle XY, Beverly Hills 90210, and more.
