GET READY FOR THE GRAND LINE
We're geared up for the season 2 release of Netflix's One Piece live-action adaptation. With new classic characters hitting the screen IRL, we're rounding up everything we're excited to see next month. Dive into Eiichiro Oda's iconic characters and prepare for another arc on the way to Luffy's dream of becoming King of the Pirates.
THE STRAW HATS
Monkey D. Luffy
He's going to be King of the Pirates. Luffy is Captain of the Straw Hats, and the glue of the crew. He's a true ride-or-die for anyone he calls family, doing whatever is needed to make their dreams come true. He's got rubber-like powers from the gum-gum fruit, boundless energy, and a smile as big and bright as a sunrise. He's joy incarnate, a relentless positive vibe with a touching backstory as the grandson of an Admiral and son of the leader of the Revolutionary Army, saved by one of the Four Emperors of the Sea.
He's played by Iñaki Godoy, who you may know from The Imperfects.
Roronoa Zoro
The always sleepy, sake-sipping, directionally challenged swordsman of the crew. He uses the iconic three-sword style to fight, and is on his own journey to become the world's greatest swordsman. He's the perfect balance of serious to Luffy's aloof nature.
He's played by Makenyu, who you've seen in Pacific Rim: Uprising, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Take A Chance.
Nami
She's the navigator of the Straw Hats crew, both leading the ship on the sea and keeping all the big personalities on track. She may not possess gum-gum fruit powers, but she's a storm of her own, strategizing and keeping the team tethered throughout the stormy seas. Her dream is to draw a map of the entire world.
Nami is played by Emily Rudd, who you know from Delicious in Dungeon, Fear Street: Part Two - 1978, and The Romanoffs.
Sanji
The Straw Hat's resident chef, loverboy, and powerful martial artist, specializing in kick/leg-only moves. He uses 'Black Leg' style, leading to his nickname of Black Leg Sanji. He's always rockin' a sharp outfit, flirting with girls, and sparring with Zoro. He dreams of finding the All Blue, aka the place where the North Blue, South Blue, East Blue, and West Blue seas meet.
He's played by Taz Skylar, who you know from Boiling Point, Lazarus, and more.
Usopp
Usopp is a cowardly fighter, trying to learn confidence with the help of the Straw Hats. He goes by Sniper King, using his dad Yasopp's pirate legacy as his own personal goalpost to aim for. His dream is to become a brave warrior of the sea.
He's played by Jacob Romero.

THE GOING MERRY
The ship that the Straw Hats call home. The Going Merry is a representation of the excitement and energy of the crew.
NEW CREW FOR SEASON TWO
Fans can be excited for some familiar faves this season, with live action versions of Chopper, Robin, and Vivi here to grace our screens.
Tony Tony Chopper
Chopper is a reindeer who ate a human-human fruit and trained up to become a doctor. He's the cutest little guy on the Straw Hats crew, shy yet wildly protective of his friends.
He's played by Michaela Hoover, who recently portrayed Kat Graham in Superman (2025).
Nico Robin / Miss All Sunday
An archaeologist from Ohara, Miss All Sunday is second-in-command for Crocodile at Baroque Works. She's a calm, intelligent, powerful Devil fruit wielder with a flair for knowledge and research. She has the powers of the Flower-Flower fruit, using the ability to quietly stun and incapacitate enemies.
She's played by Lera Abova.
NERFERTARI VIVI / MISS MONDAY
A Baroque Works agent and secretly the Princess of Alabasta, the blue-haired beauty is a formidable foe and a phenomenal ally.
She's played by Charithra Chandran, who you know from another one of Netflix's major hits, Bridgerton.
DRAGON
The leader of the Revolutionary Army, Dragon is a rebel with a cause. He's the bane of the World Government, and as such he's also his own father's enemy.
He's set to be played by Rigo Sanchez, known for Outer Banks and Goliath.

DOCTOR KUREHA & DOCTOR HIRILUK
Kureha is Chopper's adoptive mother and teacher, and Hiriluk serves as Chopper's father figure, the two of them shaping Chopper's life after consuming the human-human fruit.
Mark Harelik of Presumed Innocent and Preacher plays Hiriluk, and Kureha is played by Katey Segal, who you know from Sons of Anarchy, Futurama, and many more iconic roles.
BAROQUE WORKS
A secret criminal organization manipulating events across the Grand Line.
Baroque Works is a structured syndicate built on secrecy, code names, and paired agents. Each high-ranking operative is assigned a number and partnered with a female agent using a “Miss” codename. Together, they function as Crocodile’s network of spies, enforcers, and political saboteurs.
Crocodile
A Warlord of the Sea, Crocodile is a user of the Sand-Sand fruit and leader of Baroque Works.
He's being played by the charismatic Joe Manganiello, who you know from True Blood, Magic Mike, and numerous other iconic roles.
MR. 3 / GALDINO
The wilily tactician of the group, using the power of the Wax-Wax fruit. He uses the terrain to gain the upper hand in fights, creating theatrical fights we love to watch unfold.
Played by David Dastmalchian, who you know from, well, everything, but Most recently in Late Night with the Devil.
MISS GOLDENWEEK / MARIANNE
Miss Goldenweek is a master manipulator, using emotional warfare through paint that influences and alters manners.
Played by Sophia Anne Caruso, recently seen in another Netflix hit, The School for Good and Evil.
MR. 5 / GEM
A user of the Bomb-Bomb fruit, Mr. 5 is an explosive agent for Baroque Works. He's an enforcer that overwhelms enemies, physically overpowering most combatants easily.
Played by Camrus Johnson, who you may know from Batwoman.
MISS VALENTINE / MIKITA
A Baroque Works agent who combines charm with sudden, devastating physical attacks. Using the kilo-kilo fruit, she drops aerial attacks and weight shifts to get the upper hand in fights.
She's played by Jazzara Jaslyn, who you might know from Warrior.
MR. 9
A Baroque Works operative who specializes in undercover work and infiltration. He uses conventional weapons, ambush attacks, and disguises in his warfare. He's a full spy, blending in to gain the advantage.
Played by Daniel Lasker, who you may known from Raised By Wolves.

SHANKS
Shanks is Luffy's savior and mentor, as well as Captain of the Red Hair Pirates and one of the Four Emperors of the Sea.
He's played by Peter Gadiot, known for Yellowjackets and Queen of the South.
OTHER FAN FAVES
We can't finish a recap without mentioning some of our other faves that we're waiting to see again or for the first time.
MONKEY D. GARP
A legendary Marine Vice Admiral, Luffy's grandpa, and Koby's mentor. He's a formidable foe with no devil fruit powers, yet he is known for being strong enough to go toe to toe with Gold Roger, and is a strong haki user.
He's played by Vincent Regan, known for his roles in 300, Snow White and the Hunstman, and many more iconic fandom features.
SMOKER
A relentless Marine with devil fruit Smoke powers, he's paired with Tashigi and a bane of Luffy's adventures. He's also known as the White Hunter, a formidable foe and commander of the G-5 Marine Base.
He's played by Callum Kerr, known for his role in Monarch.
TASHIGI
Tashigi is a devoted Marine and a skilled swordsman committed to justice. She's paired up with Smoker, leading their Marines through the fray.
She is played by Julia Rehwald from Star Wars Young Jedi Adventures.
KOBY
Koby is one of Luffy's first friends, as well as one of his first enemies. He's Luffy's counterpart on the Marines, a strong-willed fighter aiming for true justice and care through his service. Though he's technically on the other side of Luffy, they're closer to competitive brothers than anything, frienemies at their finest.
Played by Morgan Davies, also known for Evil Dead Rise, The Hunter, and more.
HELMEPPO
Helmeppo is a Marine nepo baby, learning first hand from Koby and Garp what being a Marine really means. He's learning to walk the walk since Garp won't take it easy on him, and he is used to being dealt an easy hand up until this point. His friendly rivalry with Luffy and Koby add a fun competition and contrast to the different walks of life coming together and growing up in this grand adventure.
He's played by Aidan Scott, known for The Kissing Booth 2 and The Fix.
KING COBRA / NEFERTARI COBRA
The Ruler of Alabasta and Vivi's father, he's known for being a gentle, kind ruler with a wealth of knowledge.
He's set to be played by the iconic Sendhil Ramamurthy, aka Doctor Sureha from Heroes, or Bloodwork/Dr. Ramsey Rosso from The Flash.
WAPOL
The former king of Drum Island, Wapol is a tyrannical antagonist who has Devil fruit powers that allow him to eat anything and transform it into whatever he wants.
He's set to be played by Rob Coletti, known for his work in The Many Saints of Newark.
DALTON
Ty Keogh is set to play the Royal Guard and protector of Drum Island. He has a rare Zoan-type Devil fruit power, granting him bison powers. His powers are a mirror to Chopper's powers, being a half-animal, half-human.
He is known from his role as Keith Zera in 24 Hours to Live.
DORRY & BROGY
Werner Coetser & Brendan Murray are set to play the Giant warriors of Little Garden. They are legendary warrior pirates, stuck in a 100 year duel based on traditions from Elbaf, the land of the giants.
ON TO ALABASTA
Season 3 is just on the horizon, and we wanted to mention the anticipated new casting we're looking forward to seeing when it's released. But hopefully also seeing them somehow before the end of Season 2.
MR. 1 / DAZ BONEZ
Crocodile’s top enforcer whose body becomes living steel blades. He's set to be Zoro's main enemy, using his full body blades as a test to Zoro's will and capabilities.
He'll be played by Awdo Awdo, a relative newcomer to the big screen.
MISS DOUBLEFINGER / ZALA
Mr. 1’s partner, able to generate deadly spikes from her body. She uses spike-creation devil fruit powers, combined with close-range impalement and strong defensive moves. She's confident, aggressive, and stylish. Miss Doublefinger adds versatility and visual brutality to the team.
She's set to be played by Daisy Head.
MR. 2 / BON CLAY
A flamboyant agent who can perfectly imitate anyone he touches. He has Clone-Clone Fruit powers, which means he can turn into anyone he chooses. Bon Clay is a fan fave, known for his theatrical, over-the-top styling that fiercely blends drag and combat. Bon Clay’s introduction foreshadows one of the franchise’s most emotionally complex arcs.
He's set to be played by Cole Escola.
MISS MERRY CHRISTMAS
Mr. 4’s partner who attacks from below using burrowing abilities from her Devil Fruit, allowing her mole-based transformation. She uses surprise attacks and underground ambushes paired with wild energy and unpredictable movement as an advantage during fights. She adds environmental danger to combat, forcing heroes to watch the ground as well as the enemy.
