The next generation of heroes is set. Here's who we'll be seeing more of in the new era of DC.
Clark Kent / Superman
The iconic Man of Steel is played by David Corenswet. He portrays both Kyryptonian hero Superman and his secret identity, Clark Kent—a mild-mannered reporter from Smallville trying to make it big at the Daily Planet in Metropolis.
Leading Superman (2025) is his major breakout role—but you might know him from The Politician, Hollywood, or Pearl.
Lex Luthor
Nicholas Hoult plays Lex Luthor—billionaire genius, Superman’s greatest rival, and bald icon of villainy.
You've seen him in comedies, like his portrayal of Peter III in The Great or R in Warm Bodies, or in other superhero movies as Hank McCoy/Beast in X-Men, and even in the recent retelling of Nosferatu.
Lois Lane
Rachel Brosnahan is Lois Lane—investigative journalist, Daily Planet superstar, and Superman’s anchor to humanity.
You've seen her in some of your fave TV shows, like her Emmy winning role in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel as Midge Maisel, or in House of Cards as Rachel Posner.
Jimmy Olsen
Skyler Gisondo is Jimmy Olsen—photographer, Superman's pal, and the heart of the newsroom. Quirky, loyal, and a little awkward.
You've seen him in HBO's The Righteous Gemstones, Booksmart, Santa Clarita Diet, Licorice Pizza, and more.
Angela Spicer / The Engineer
Maria Gabriela de Faria is The Engineer—a cybernetically enhanced antihero from The Authority. Think Iron Man meets nanotech anarchist.
She may look familiar if you've seen Deadly Class, Yo Soy Franky, or Crossing Point.
Michael Holt / Mr. Terrific
Edi Gathegi is Mister Terrific—a tech genius, Olympic-level athlete, and superhero with gadgets smarter than most villains.
You've seen him in everything from Twilight: New Moon and X-Men: First Class to StartUp and For All Mankind.
Kendra Saunders / Hawkgirl
Isabela Merced is Hawkgirl—winged warrior, reincarnated soul, and wielder of a giant mace.
You probably think she looks familiar from her recent role of Dina in HBO's The Last of Us season two.
Guy Gardner / Green Lantern
Nathan Fillion is Guy Gardner—the brash, loud, and totally unfiltered green-ring-wearing Lantern you love to roast, especially for the bowl cut.

Rick Flag Sr.
Frank Grillo is Rick Flag Sr.—veteran soldier and father to Suicide Squad's Rick Flag Jr. and a gritty warrior with deep DC ties.

Anthony Carrigan is Metamorpho—adventurer-turned-elemental shapeshifter. He's made of rock, gas, and chaos.
You love him in Barry and as Victor Zsasz in Gotham.
Cat Grant
Mikaela Hoover is Cat Grant—gossip columnist, media mogul, and queen of tea at the Daily Planet.
She's been in other superhero flicks like Guardians of the Galaxy and The Suicide Squad, and was just announced to be the voice of Tony Tony Chopper in Netflix’s One Piece: Season 2.
PERRY WHITE
Wendell Pierce is Perry White—editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet and the journalistic backbone of Metropolis. Tough, no-nonsense, and famously allergic to absurd headlines.
You've seen him in Suits, The Wire (as Detective Bunk Moreland), Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, and Broadway’s Death of a Salesman revival (as Willy Loman).

Krypto
He's here to help make things less ruff. He's the best boy, Superman’s loyal dog—think golden retriever energy with laser eyes.
He's been Superman's best furry friend in Smallville, Titans, Superman & Lois, and made numerous animated appearances like in DC League of Super-Pets.

Here's a quick history of the iconic actors who've donned the crest of the House of El on the big screen.
Christopher Reeve
The original, the blueprint—Reeve portrayed Superman with grace, charm, and humanity, defining the role for a generation. His portrayal of Superman remains the gold standard, and his real-life work as a disability advocate post-accident made him a hero off-screen too.
Brandon Routh
A spiritual successor to Christopher Reeve's Superman, Routh’s was a soft reboot steeped in nostalgia and heart. He took up the mantle for Superman Returns in 2006.
You may also know him from when he joined back into the DC universe for Legends of Tomorrow (as Ray Palmer/The Atom), or his iconic role of Todd Ingram in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.
Henry Cavill
Taking up the mantle from 2013-2022, he was the DCEU's Superman—brooding, powerful, and deeply conflicted. It was a different version of the Man of Steel than we'd seen previously, a modern take for a modern world.
It's hard not to recognize him with his starring roles in The Witcher, Mission: Impossible - Fallout, Argylle, and The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.

George Reeves
Adventures of Superman (1952–1958)
George was the first on-screen Superman for many. He played the Man of Steel with authority and 1950s charm. You know him from Adventures of Superman and Gone with the Wind.
Reeves is a cultural icon and the subject of the biopic Hollywoodland.
Dean Cain
Lois & Clark (1993–1997)
Dean Cain: The ’90s heartthrob Superman. Romantic, quippy, and very into shoulder pads.
You’ve seen him in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, and even on Supergirl as Kara’s dad.
Tom Welling
Smallville (2001–2011)
Welling gave us 10 seasons of young Clark Kent. No tights, no flights—just high school, Kryptonite, and destiny. You know him from Smallville, Cheaper by the Dozen, and recently as Cain in Lucifer.
Tyler Hoechlin
Superman & Lois (2021–2025)
He's the CW’s most recent Superman—dad, hero, and husband to Lois Lane in a post-crisis multiverse.
You know him from Teen Wolf, Everybody Wants Some!!, and Palm Springs.

Bud Collyer
The Voice of Classic Superman (1940–1969)
The original voice of Superman in radio and animated shorts, Bud helped coin the vocal shift between Clark Kent and Superman. You've heard him in The Adventures of Superman on the radio, the Superman 1940s cartoons, and The New Adventures of Superman.
Danny Dark
The Super Friends Superman (1973–1986)
The booming, heroic voice of Superman during the Super Friends era. You've heard his voice in Challenge of the Superfriends, The Super Powers Team, and The World's Greatest Super Friends.
Tim Daly
The ‘90s Superman (1996–2012)
The voice of Superman in the beloved Superman: The Animated Series. His portrayal is calm, wise, and powerful. You'll know his voice from Superman: The Animated Series, Justice League: Doom, and Superman/Batman: Apocalypse.
You've also seen him outside of the Superman role in Wings, Private Practice, Madam Secretary, and more.
George Newbern
Justice League Superman (2001–2022)
The voice of Superman for a whole generation of DC fans via the Justice League shows, including Justice League Unlimited, Injustice, and Static Shock.
He also voices the iconic villain Sephiroth in Final Fantasy VII and Kingdom Hearts.
Nolan North
The Lego Superman (2010–present)
He's the frequent voice of Superman in DC’s animated and video game content—often with a comedic edge. You've heard his Superman in Young Justice, Lego Batman movies, and MultiVersus.
He's also know for the legendary Nathan Drake in the Uncharted series, and Desmond Miles in Assassin’s Creed.
David Kaye
Cartoon Shorts Superman (2010)
The voice of Superman in a few quirky shorts and kids’ series like DC Super Friends, Tales of Metropolis, and Teen Titans Go!.
He's also notably known for Megatron in Transformers: Beast Wars, and Clank in Ratchet & Clank.
Travis Willingham
Lego & Beyond (2012–2023)
Another voice behind Superman in LEGO games and more modern animation, such as Lego Batman 2 & 3, Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons, and Justice League x RWBY.
He's also known for voicing the English version of Portgas D. Ace in One Piece, Thor in Avengers Assemble, Knuckles in Sonic Boom, and is a main cast member of Critical Role.
Jerry O'Connell
DCAU Superman (2015–2020)
He's the voice of Superman through several DC Animated Movie Universe (DCAMU) films, including The Death of Superman, Justice League Dark: Apokolips War, and Batman: Hush.

Modern Animated Superman (2020–2024)
