Can you tell us about your first cosplay?

My first cosplay was Crona from Soul Eater. I remember being completely inexperienced with makeup at the time and having my friends help me with it. I was so nervous and excited. When I saw myself in cosplay for the first time, something clicked. I knew it was something I wanted to continue doing and to get better at!

Do you have a cosplay piece that you are most proud of?

My Bioshock Little Sister dress. I painted it by hand!

What do you hope to achieve through cosplay?

Someday, I’d love to be invited to events to either act as or perform as a character for a company.

Is there a local cosplayer that you look up to or inspires you?

My friend Emily. She’s so passionate about everything she does and is much more organized than me. What would I do without her!

If you could give any piece of advice to new cosplayers, what would it be?

Don’t give up! Cosplaying for the first time is never easy. It definitely takes time to get where you want to be; to perfect your wig, and master that makeup. But everyone starts somewhere. Also, know your worth. Never feel obligated to take a photo with someone if they make you feel uncomfortable.
