2022 SUPERHERO MOVIES

2022 has a STACKED lineup of superhero releases from both Marvel and DC. We will see a lot of familiar faces return as well as new characters in both universes. Here are our most anticipated superhero releases are coming to screens sometime in 2022.

The Batman

Release Date: March 2

We finally get to see Robert Pattinson as Batman and more importantly… see how this controversial casting decision pans out. The movie will focus on a younger Bruce Wayne than we have seen in the past, who will pursuing the Riddler (played by Paul Dano). Other appearances in the film will include Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman and Colin Farrell as Penguin.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Release Date: May 4

Can you believe it’s been six years since Doctor Strange came out? We have seen him since then in other Marvel movies, including a pretty big role in Spider-Man: No Way Home. While details of the plot are hard to come by so far, we imagine we will be seeing the aftermath of Strange’s role in No Way Home as well as some WandaVision follow ups.

Thor: Love and Thunder

Release Date: July 8

Thor is back and he is not alone. We know the movie will feature Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, as well as members of Guardians of the Galaxy, plus Christian Bale will be introduced as supervillain, Gorr the God Butcher. The main focus of the movie will see Portman’s character become Mighty Thor, who gains similar powers to Thor whilst battling cancer. There will also be several other appearances from other Marvel characters, making this a movie you won’t want to miss.

The Flash

Release Date: November 2

After getting some previews of Ezra Miller as the Flash in other DC movies, it will be nice to see him star in this much-anticipated film. The film will focus on the Flash traveling back in time to prevent his mother’s murder, and will feature appearances from both Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton, who reprise their roles as Batman. Yes, you read that right. Michael Keaton will be back as Batman, need we say more?

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Release Date: November 9

Due to the devastating loss of Chadwick Boseman, T’Challa will not return to Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Instead, the movie will explore the world and characters that were introduced in the first film and work to honor Boseman’s legacy. While not much is known of the plot just yet, we know Lupita Nyong’o will star as Nakia and we will see Shuri (played by Letitia Wright) have a more prominent role in the second film as T’Challa’s younger sister.
