Important Rules for On-Site Media at FAN EXPO Boston
Media Passes
All media staff members must be present to pick up their respective badges and must be worn on-site at all times. A Press Pass is only evidence of your media accreditation and does not grant you any rights or privilege to access Guests or any particular area, venue or event. Any special requests must be made in advance with Seven Letter.
Interviews
Media are not permitted to approach Celebrity Talent or Managers on-site during the event without pre-approval by FAN EXPO Boston and Seven Letter. No unapproved or drive-by interviews with Celebrities or Special Guests. Celebrity interviews may be requested but are not guaranteed. To submit a request, you must include the request when applying. Seven Letter will review and be in touch with approvals.
Filming
On the show floor and in panels, photographers and camera operations must be at least 12 feet away from any Celebrity Guest. You are required to stop filming/shooting if asked. Permission must be obtained for videotaping, filming or recording that is intended for commercial purposes. Camera crews are free to roam the show floor, but cannot set up equipment in a fixed manner without approval.
Events & Panels
Press Passes do not guarantee access to panels or ticketed events. Specially Ticketed Event access has to be pre-arranged for each event. Any special requests must be made in advance with Seven Letter.
PRESS & MEDIA FAQ
Who can apply for media credentials?
FAN EXPO Boston encourages media from all formats and locations who intend to cover the convention to apply for media accreditation; however, due to the large volume of applications, not all applications are approved.
How many staff members are allowed per outlet?
Media outlets are granted two media staff member badges per outlet.
How long is the application approval process?
Applications are reviewed within 2-4 weeks from the time the application is sent. The Seven Letter team will reach out to the email noted on the application. Seven Letter reviews each application carefully, please be patient.
How does the interview process work and can I interview a Celebrity Guest?
Interviews with Celebrity Guests are granted depending on the availability of a Celebrity and if the Celebrity approved the interview. Interviews are NOT guaranteed and are limited. Requests for pre-arranged interview can be sent to ann@sevenletter.com.
Is there a place to store equipment on-site?
No, there is no designated space for personal storage and/or equipment.
Is there parking for media?
There is no designated parking for media. There will be designated parking for marked vehicles ONLY when requested in advance through Seven Letter.
Is there internet access in the convention?
The internet bandwidth in the convention facilities is often a challenge due to the quantity of fans using their smartphones and the concrete/structure.
If my staff member is planning to come on one designated day, can I pick up their pass ahead of time?
No, each media staff members must be present to pick up their respective badges with valid photo ID.
If there is a Specially Ticketed Event, will our Press Pass grant access to that?
No, Press Passes do not guarantee access to panels or ticketed events. Ticketed event access has to be pre-arranged for each event through Seven Letter.
