GET READY FOR
THE SECOND COMING
THE END IS NIGH (AND WE'RE NOT READY TO SAY GOODBYE)
Angels, demons, and one very particular arrangement are about to wrap up for good. Good Omens has given us celestial chaos, unlikely partnerships, and enough witty one-liners to last through the actual apocalypse. With the final season currently airing, now's the time to rewatch, reminisce, and prepare for the ultimate showdown between Heaven, Hell, and everything in between. Join us for a deep dive into the show so far.
THE ODD COUPLE
Aziraphale
Aziraphale, played by Michael Sheen, is a book-loving, tartan-wearing angel who owns a bookshop in Soho and has a soft spot for crepes and doing the right thing (even when Heaven disagrees). He has spent thousands of years on Earth collecting first editions, perfecting his magic act, and realizing that maybe the folks upstairs don't always have the best plan. He's prim, proper, and secretly a total rebel.
Crowley
Crowley, played by David Tennant, is a snake-eyed demon with impeccable style, a vintage Bentley, and zero interest in actually being evil. He's been tempting humans since the Garden of Eden, but mostly he just wants to listen to Queen, wear his sunglasses indoors, and hang out with his best friend (who happens to be an angel). He's cool, sarcastic, and way too good at his job for someone who doesn't care about it.
UPSTAIRS
Gabriel
Gabriel is the Supreme Archangel of Heaven with perfect hair, a dazzling smile, and absolutely zero chill. Played by Jon Hamm, he has spent millennia being smug, condescending, and generally terrible to Aziraphale... until he shows up at the bookshop with no memory of his past. Now he's just Jim, a cinnamon roll who loves hot chocolate and has no idea he used to be the worst.
Michael
Played by Doon Mackichan, Michael is the Archangel with a permanent scowl and a serious promotion problem. She's spent eternity climbing Heaven's corporate ladder, throwing colleagues under the celestial bus, and perfecting the art of the passive-aggressive power play.
Uriel
Played by Gloria Obianyo, Uriel is the Archangel who makes ice look warm and fuzzy. She's all business, zero mercy, and has perfected the art of the death stare. While Michael schemes for promotions, Uriel's the one actually getting things done—usually by threatening someone with holy fire.
Saraqael
Saraqael, played by Liz Carr, is the Archangel who sees everything and says just enough to make you nervous. She's been watching from the sidelines for millennia, keeping Heaven's surveillance systems running and its secrets buried. When she finally picks a side, you better believe it matters.
Muriel
Muriel, played by Quelin Sepulveda, is a low-ranking scrivener angel who's spent eternity filing paperwork in Heaven's basement. Sweet, and earnest, they are absolutely thrilled to be on their first Earth assignment—even if it's spying on Aziraphale. They're like a golden retriever in angelic form, discovering coffee shops, books, and the concept of being nice to demons.
the Metatron
Derek Jacobi plays the Metatron, the one who speaks for the Almighty, and wields more power than any archangel. He appears as a seemingly kind, grandfatherly presence offering Aziraphale coffee and a promotion, but there's something unsettling beneath the charm. His sudden interest in Aziraphale raises questions about what Heaven really has planned.
DOWNSTAIRS
Beelzebub
The Lord of the Flies and Hell's no-nonsense administrator who's equal parts terrifying and exhausted. Beelzebub, played by Anna Maxwell Martin in season one and Shelley Conn in season two, runs the underworld like a failing corporation, complete with pointless meetings and demons who can't follow simple instructions. They've got a permanent cloud of flies, zero patience for incompetence, and a surprising soft spot for a certain purple-eyed archangel.
Hastur
Played by Ned Dennehy, Hastur is the Duke of Hell who makes every day feel like a Monday morning. He's perpetually annoyed, deeply suspicious, and absolutely convinced everyone's out to get him—which, to be fair, they probably are. Loyal to Hell's cause but terrible at actually executing plans, he's the demon who's spent decades partnered with Crowley and still hasn't forgiven him for being cooler.
Ligur
Played by Ariyon Bakare, Ligur is a Duke of Hell who's all menace and zero luck. He's Hastur's partner in incompetence, specializing in threats he can't back up and plans that immediately backfire. He spent centuries being vaguely intimidating until he picked a fight with holy water and lost spectacularly.
Shax
Shax, played by Miranda Richardson, is the demon who slid into Crowley's old job and is absolutely determined to prove she deserves it. She's eager, aggressive, and follows Hell's rulebook like her afterlife depends on it—because it does. She leads demonic invasions, demands miracles be undone, and is generally a massive pain while trying way too hard to impress management.

ADAM YOUNG: THE ANTI-CHRIST
Season one starts with a baby swap gone wrong, landing the Anti-Christ with a normal Tadfield family instead of American diplomats. 11 years later, Adam Young is living his best life with his friends, his dog, and zero clue he's supposed to end the world. Meanwhile, Aziraphale and Crowley—who've grown rather fond of Earth—scramble to stop Armageddon while the Four Horsemen gear up and both Heaven and Hell prepare for the ultimate showdown. When Adam finally realizes he's got reality-bending powers and the fate of everything rests on his shoulders, he makes the most radical choice possible: he likes the world just fine, actually. Bikes, friends, and Saturday afternoons beat out destiny, demonic heritage, and literally everyone's apocalypse plans. He's the kid who saved the world by simply refusing to end it.
HEAVEN'S MEMORY PROBLEM & HELL'S LOVE CRISIS
In Season two, Aziraphale and Crowley are enjoying their post-apocalypse freedom when archangel Gabriel shows up at the bookshop naked, memory-wiped, and clutching a mysterious box. Suddenly, both Heaven and Hell are hunting him down, and our favorite angel-demon duo has to figure out what happened while keeping Gabriel hidden. And for a good reason. Gabriel's missing memories hold a dangerous secret: he fell in love with Beelzebub, and they planned to run away together. As the search intensifies and both sides close in, Gabriel and Beelzebub's forbidden romance becomes the catalyst for choices that will change everything.

WE COULD HAVE BEEN US
After thousands of years of being on their own side, everything falls apart. The Metatron offers Aziraphale a promotion to Supreme Archangel—a chance to reform Heaven from the inside and make it better. Aziraphale implores Crowley to come with him, to be an angel again, to finally be together properly. But Crowley doesn't want to be forgiven or fixed. He wants them to run away, to choose each other over Heaven and Hell entirely. One heartbreaking kiss and one devastating choice later, they're on opposite sides of the universe. Crowley's left standing alone in a bookshop that isn't home anymore, while Aziraphale heads back to Heaven, convinced he can fix everything. Spoiler alert: they're both miserable.
