FAN MEETUP RECAP: Pawsplay Pet Parade
Written By Teigan Blondin (Fan Meetup Ambassador, Calgary Chapter)
Last month, Calgary fans participated in the first-ever Pawsplay Pet Parade around Prince’s Island Park.
What's "Pawsplay” you ask? Well, it's cosplay for your pet! Fans dressed up their favourite furry friends and walked or wheeled them around the island in a socially distant parade route. Some of the fans dressed up in their own matching cosplay too!
Highlights included: bunnies masquerading as a ladybug and honey bee (“Bugs bunnies”, get it?); Scooby and the Gang, complete with a Mystery Machine-themed wagon; and a slew of tiny fluffy walking tacos, Yoda Labradors and unicorn doggos, all strutting their stuff for the people of Prince’s Island Park.
Thank you to our sponsor, S'Collars Club, who gave everyone little goodie bags and helped us crown the winner of the best Pawsplay! It was amazing to see our community take on the challenge of Pawsplay and bring smiles to the Calgary community as our furry friends put their best paws forward.
While there’s not another Pawsplay Pet Parade on the books yet, there are all kinds of incredible Fan Meetups (both virtual and in-person) going on in Calgary.
Check them out here and I’ll see you at the next one: https://meetups.fanexpohq.com/calgary/
