Cosplayer Of The Month Questions
What city are you based in?
Calgary, AB. I am located in Treaty 7 Territory (traditional lands of the Blackfoot.)
Can you tell us about your first cosplay?
I love horror, so my first cosplay was a Bubble nurse from Silent Hill for Halloween in high school from thrifted fabrics!
Do you have a cosplay piece that you are most proud of?
My Wonder Woman bodice! I have done 3 builds (so far!) of the bodice to get it looking just right as I learned new techniques that I wanted to test out. I love recreating old cosplays when I learn fun new techniques!
What do you hope to achieve through cosplay?
I am actually working on a cool new business project with a team that will help grow the cosplay community! I loved realizing my passions through cosplay, and I hope to inspire others to also realize their passions.
If you could give any piece of advice to new cosplayers, what would it be?
Never lose your childlike sense of wonder! Remember that you are worthy and that cosplay should always be fun, and that there is always a community to help you feel welcome!
What would you say is the hardest part of cosplaying?
Finding the exact resources you need online! Trying to find that one photo or technique, or even a tutorial that would help you make your cosplay. Even with so much information available now, it’s very overwhelming finding the right solution to help you build a specific cosplay!
In the spirit of Valentine's Day, who is your cosplay crush?
I thought long and hard about this, and I will finally admit it. I have a crush on anyone who cosplays Waluigi.
